Privacy Policy for GlowNotify
GlowNotify is a notification-glow live wallpaper. It triggers a glow effect on your lock and home screen when a notification arrives. Your privacy is important to us. GlowNotify ("the App") is a product of Golden River. This privacy policy explains how the App handles the access it requests on your device, including the anonymous crash data it may report through Google Firebase.
Information We Access
GlowNotify is built on a simple principle: your notifications are yours. The App reads each arriving notification only as a signal to light a glow effect on your screen — it does not read, store, or upload the notification content, such as the sender or the body of a chat or message. The App requests none of the contacts, SMS, call, location, camera, album, or storage permissions, maintains no account system, and collects no personally identifiable information. It may report anonymous crash data through Google Firebase strictly to keep the App stable. No account information or personal identity is sent to us or any third party.
How We Handle Notifications
Notification access is central to the glow, so we want to be clear about how the App uses it. The App receives notifications only as a trigger — a sign that a new notification has arrived — so it can light the glow. It never reads, saves, or uploads the contents of your notifications.
- Notification access lets the App know when a new notification arrives so it can light the glow instantly. This is its sole purpose.
- The App does not store or transmit notification content — chat or message text is never read, saved, or sent anywhere. Glow decisions depend only on whether a new notification has arrived.
- You stay in control: you can turn off notification access at any time in System Settings → Notification access. When disabled, the App will no longer see your notifications.
Analytics and Crash Reporting
To keep the App stable, the App may report anonymous crash and diagnostic data through the Google Firebase platform (Firebase Crashlytics). This data is sent automatically only when the App crashes, so we can find and fix bugs. It may include technical attributes of your device needed to diagnose an error.
None of this data identifies you personally, and it contains no notification content. We do not collect usage statistics, wallpapers, usage habits, or any content you create in the App.
Data We Share With Third Parties
The only third party involved is Google, via the Firebase Crashlytics service used for anonymous crash reporting. We share only the anonymous crash data described in the previous section with Google Firebase, solely so we can diagnose and fix issues. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose your notification content, wallpapers, or any personal data to any other company or organization.
Permissions
Delivered through the system's notification access. Lets the App know when a new notification arrives so it can light the glow, and shows a live status notification so you can always see that the glow is active. The App reads notifications only as a trigger signal and never stores or uploads their content. You can turn notifications off at any time in System Settings → Apps → GlowNotify → Notifications.
A normal permission granted automatically. Used only to load the online privacy policy within the App and for optional anonymous crash reporting (Firebase). No notification content or personal data is uploaded.
A special permission. Lets the App draw a transparent overlay layer to render the glow above other apps when the glow is shown as an overlay rather than through the wallpaper channel. You can revoke it at any time in System Settings → Apps → GlowNotify → Floating window; when revoked, the App falls back to rendering the glow through the wallpaper only.
A special permission that asks the system not to restrict the App's background activity, so the glow stays instantly responsive and is not put to sleep or terminated early by the battery saver. You can revoke it at any time in System Settings → Battery optimization; if revoked, the glow may be slightly delayed or limited by the battery-saver settings.
Special System Access
How We Use the Information
- Notifications are used only as a trigger signal to light the glow; their contents are never read, stored, or uploaded.
- The selected base wallpaper is cached in the App's private directory so the glow can be rendered on top of it. It is deleted when you clear the App's data or uninstall it.
- Settings and preferences are stored locally to remember your choices.
- Crash data is reported through Google Firebase (Crashlytics) only when the App crashes, to diagnose and fix issues.
- The App never shares your notification content, wallpapers, or any personal or sensitive information with third parties. The only data sent off-device is the anonymous crash data described above.
Data Storage
All data the App uses — the base wallpaper you select and your settings — is cached only in the device's local, private storage (the App's private directory). The App does not collect, store, or upload notification content, wallpapers, or usage data. No cloud storage or remote databases are used for your data.
The only data sent off-device is anonymous crash data reported through Google Firebase when the App crashes. This data contains no personal identity and no notification content.
Data Retention and Control
- You can revoke any permission or access at any time through your device's system settings.
- Clearing the App's data or uninstalling it deletes all locally cached data, including your selected base wallpaper.
- Anonymous crash reports collected through Google Firebase Crashlytics are retained in accordance with the service's data-retention settings and contain no personal identity.
Data deletion: The App stores no personal data of yours. Locally cached runtime data — such as your selected base wallpaper — is deleted whenever you clear the App's data or uninstall it. Anonymous crash reports are handled by Google Firebase's retention policy. If you have any questions, contact us through the in-app feedback channel.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect new features or legal requirements. If we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where practical, highlight the updates in the App or accompanying documentation.
